What We’re Doing

We are mobilizing a million Prayer Hubs (Ekklesia) across California—small, simple gatherings of believers meeting regularly to pray for spiritual renewal, families, leaders, and the future of our state.

A Prayer Hub (Ekklesia) can be as small as two or three people gathering in a home (Matthew 18:18-20), workplace, coffee shop, dorm room, or neighborhood. No building. No platform. No special training required.

Just people showing up to pray.

What Is an Ekklesia?

The word Ekklesia (Matthew 16:18) is the biblical word often translated as “church,” but its original meaning is much richer.

Ekklesia means “the called-out ones”—a gathering of people called together with purpose and spiritual authority.

Jesus used this word intentionally. An Ekklesia is not just a meeting—it’s a people aligned with heaven, praying God’s will into real places, real families, and real communities.

That’s why we call these gatherings Prayer Hubs (Ekklesia)—to help you understand both the function (prayer) and the biblical foundation (Ekklesia).

Why We’re Doing This

California doesn’t just need new policies—it needs spiritual transformation.

Cultural and political change only lasts when the spiritual climate changes first. Scripture shows us that prayer is how that transformation begins.

Through sustained, united prayer, everyday believers can:

  • Shift spiritual atmospheres
  • Stand against injustice and darkness
  • Pray for leaders with authority and humility (1 Timothy 2)
  • See families, cities, and communities renewed

“You can win a battle without winning the war—but prayer changes the ground itself.” – Pastor Che Ahn

How to Start Your Prayer Hub (Ekklesia)

Starting a Prayer Hub (Ekklesia) is simple:

  1. Gather 2–3 people (more is fine, but not required)
  2. Meet once a week (30–60 minutes is perfect)
  3. Pray together for:
    • Your 2 state leaders (State Assembly/State Senator) Find your California Representative https://findyourrep.legislature.ca.gov/
    • Your families and friends in California
    • California’s spiritual renewal
    • Optional/suggested: Local political leaders like city council, mayor, county supervisor, etc.)
  4. Be consistent—faithfulness matters more than size

You can also pray individually throughout the week, but the power of agreement comes when believers pray together.

What We Expect (and What We Don’t)

We are inviting you to:

  • Commit to weekly prayer
  • Pray with expectation and humility
  • Believe that God uses ordinary people
  • Be part of something bigger than yourself

We’re not asking you to:

  • Lead a church
  • Speak publicly
  • Host events
  • Be a prayer expert

This is how transformation begins—one Prayer Hub (Ekklesia) at a time.
