California stands at a defining moment.
Like many Californians, I love this state deeply. It is where my family built a life, where I have served communities for decades, and where I have seen both extraordinary promise and growing challenges. That is why I stepped forward to run for Governor—not as a career politician, but as a servant leader committed to restoring opportunity, strengthening families, and advancing practical solutions that work.
If you have recently reviewed your voter guide and did not see my name listed among the candidates, you are not alone. I want to personally assure you: our campaign is very much active, and we are filed with the Secretary of State as a Write-In Candidate for Governor.
For the filing process, we submitted the required tax returns for public disclosure, and those filings were received. However, they were submitted just beyond the statutory deadline required for ballot qualification. Because of that timing, we sought access through the courts to compel placement on the ballot. After review, both the Superior Court and the Court of Appeal upheld the existing statutory requirements.
Let me be clear: this does not disqualify me from serving as Governor of California.
I remain fully qualified under the California Constitution. We are now moving forward through a lawful and recognized election process—as a write-in candidate. Every vote written in for CHE AHN will be counted and certified.
In that moment, I was reminded of a phrase often attributed to John Paul Jones during the American Revolution: “I have not yet begun to fight.” That spirit reflects our campaign today. We have only begun.
A Different Kind of Campaign
Can a write-in campaign succeed?
It can—because this campaign is not built on political machinery. It is built on people.
More than 60% of Californians identify with a faith, according to the Pew Research Center.¹ At the same time, the number of voters choosing “No Party Preference” continues to grow, now representing one of the largest voting blocs in the state.²
This tells us something important: Californians are looking beyond party labels. They are looking for leadership that reflects integrity, accountability, and a clear sense of purpose.
The Reality Californians Are Facing
Across our state, families are feeling the weight of real challenges:
- California has the largest homeless population in the nation, with more than 180,000 individuals experiencing homelessness.³
- The median home price in California remains above $800,000, placing homeownership out of reach for many families.⁴
- When adjusted for cost of living, nearly one-third of Californians live at or near poverty.⁵
- Californians pay the highest gas prices in the country, often significantly above the national average.⁶
- The state now faces a projected budget deficit exceeding $20 billion after recent surpluses.⁷
- Despite high spending, California’s K–12 system ranks near the bottom nationally in key academic outcomes.⁸
These are not abstract statistics—they are the daily realities shaping the lives of millions of Californians.
This is more than a policy challenge. It is a question of leadership.
A Better Way Forward
California’s future does not require more division or more bureaucracy. It requires leadership that prioritizes:
- Strong families as the foundation of society
- Safe communities through consistent law enforcement
- Economic opportunity through lower costs and fewer barriers
- Accountability in government spending
- Compassionate solutions that address root causes—not just symptoms
This is what I call compassionate justice—a commitment to care for people while upholding responsibility and the rule of law .
The Power of a Write-In Vote
A write-in campaign restores something fundamental: choice.
California’s election process allows voters to write in a qualified candidate—and those votes are officially counted and certified.
When you vote, you have the opportunity to choose a different direction.
Simply write:
CHE AHN
Six letters – One decision for a better California.
A Call to Move Forward
This campaign has never been about one person. It is about a shared belief that California can do better—and that our best days are still ahead.
We can restore opportunity.
We can strengthen families.
We can rebuild trust in leadership.
This moment is not the end of a campaign.
It is the beginning of a movement, on your ballot or at the polls, write-in Che Ahn for Governor.
We have only begun.
